Tudor Baking - A Tudor Apple Pie
I created another historical recipe - based on a cookbook first published in 1545, no less - for the Love British History website.
I absolutely loved photographing it, and setting the scene. I'm a fan of Henry VIII and his wives, so I dedicated this pie to Anne Boleyn, who was said to have had a craving for apples while pregnant with the future Elizabeth I. And yes, that's clotted cream - it's known to have been eaten in England since at least the 1100s, where it was mentioned in the records of Tavistock Abbey!
